Washington D.C. improviser: Tara Maher

Tara Maher

Tara Maher began her improv studies at New York's Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in 2001 under the tutelage of Matt Walsh, Paul Scheer, Billy Merrit and Kevin Mullaney. There she wrote and performed in the sketch show "Famous People Are Assholes" directed by Jake Fogelnest. Tara has since moved to DC and been performing with the Washington Improv Theater since 2007. She has performed in Bitchwood (the improvised soap opera), OneSixtyOne's Seasonal Disorder, WIT Hot American Summer, Improvapalooza and WIT's tournament of the FIST. She currently teaches Level 3 "Scene" and is a member of the house team Season Six. She performs stand-up from time to time and counts the successful completion of a 17 day Master Cleanse and Michael McKean's retweet of one of her jokes among her greatest acheivements.
